The participants created photographic works based on the theme “before I was a refugee”. These works will be exhibited in Butler Gallery in Kilkenny for Refugee Week 2025 (17th – 23rd June). On 17th June\, the participants will launch Kilkenny Refugee Week 2025 and their exhibition.\nSense of self is often lost on the journey to safety. This is an opportunity to hear from the creators of the exhibition about their identities\, before they were refugees. This exhibition has given them the opportunity to tell the story of who they are outside the label “refugee” – mothers\, fathers\, teachers\, friends\, dreamers.\nFinger food will be provided.
